when i try to defrag or scan disk, it continues to start
over abd indicates that there is another program writing
to the disk, how can i keep or stop whatever is running in
the back ground? i have tried to task man out of all prog

  I am running Windows 98.  Just for the past 2 weeks, my
computer has been running VERY VERY sluggish.  I have
looked at everything but can't find the problem.  I just
reformatted everything about a month ago and everything

recently, norton crashguard comes up and tells me that an
error has been found in symtray and to try and revive
program.  When I click on revive, nothing happens, but
within a few minutes all of my program that I was working

A tip in an article suggested adding script to
Autoexec.bat in the System Information\Tools\System
Configuration Utility to clean up the temporary files in
the C\Windows\Temp folder at startup, as follows:

I have a CD-ROM that is properly detected by the BIOS setup but it does not
appear in the My Computer as an optiom. When I type F: (this is a F Drive
CD-Rom) in the RUN box, I get access to the CD with no problem. I have WIN98
SE and I had never seen this problem before. Any ideas?
