My computer completely crashed two weeks ago.  By that I
mean when I turned it on, it would look and act like it
was going to start, but when the desk top would appear,
absolutely nothing.  I was on the phone with dell for

I've been having long startup problems. I am useing hardly
any of my hard. 120GB maybe 5%.  It won't defrag because
of no free memory. I am running windows 98 se. I'm tired
of all the problems. I just got it back from the shop less

EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in
module <unknown> at 0000:00000000
This one has me perplexed. It happens when moving mass
files from my secondary hard drive, or my CD-ROM. Also

Dial-up networking has a mind of its own to pop up the dialogue box on
booting up - but not always.  It will close down, eventually, by just
repeatedly closing it down.
I haven't been able to find just what is kicking it off.  Any suggestions

Having lost a significant file I re-installed Windows 98 over the existing
install.
Now, every time I boot-up it generates a file c:\windows\sysbckup\rb00x.cab.
I have been deleting these files (which does not seem to have any

I just added 256mb to the original 64mb of my computer.  
After running just a few programs (IE, MSN IM, etc) my
computer is low on memory.  Maybe there is something
running in the background but I don't know how to check it

A recent F-Prot definitions file was faulty and gave a false positive on and
recommended deletion of IExplorer.exe (and one other
file).  I followed this advice which then made Windows98 inoperable (the
computer would not boot up).  The only option was to re-install Windows 98.

When I start my computer (Win 98SE) I enter my user name
and password (I also tried a new user) and after that all
I get is a blue screen. My mouse moves but nothing else
comes up on the screen.

I have recently downloaded software from Nero Express (it
is a cd burner type program).  Since installation I can
not longer start my Windows 98 software.  It gets to the
desktop and then gives me the following error message:

When I attempt to install any of the updates the Windows
Updates website says I need to review/install, I can only
go as far as to click "Accept" on the standard MS terms of
agreement that pops up.  Immediately after that, my

windows seems to be working fine except when I go into
Aol. aol will not send email messages.  I receive messages
but as soon as i try to send one the system does not
respond and freezes or i get an illegal operation message

When I try to open I get an error message "explorer has
performed an illegal operation and will shut down."
Also when on line I get the same typoe message for "wysink"
How can I clean up this mess?
