I just installed a new motherboard AMD XP2600+ cpu and 512 Meg RAM. It takes at least 5 minutes or nore to boot up once it hits the logo screen. The blue bar moves VERY VERY Slow. Does anyone have an idea how correct this?

I am unable to defragment my computer. I am using Windows 98. Once I start defrag "drive C" I have kept all night long, even in the morning It was 0%.

Windows 98: When I try to defragmate. The first thing I do it shut everything down, off line. To be sure it is all shut down, I Ctrl-Alt-Del, and end task on anything that won't shut my computer down.

Does anyone know why Defrag in Win 98SE continues to restart and never finishes? It has been running for over 24 hours and gets nowhere. I quit all other applications before I started Defrag and there are no disc errors.
