My husband accidentally deleted some files.  Now when we
reboot we can only get to DOS and the message says that
the command.com file is missing.  I can't change the
directory so that I can reinstall windows which is in the

When I open help file i get the index & contents but the
answers on the right side dont come up.
Also when I click on a program to open it takes a very
long time to open or else does not respond at all.

I have three Content.IE5 folders, one each in
Windows\Temp\TIF; Windows\TIF and Windows\Local
Settings\TIF.  Lots of rubbish...etc.  Can I safely delete
these (windows warns if you try this!) and should I use

I have a friend who cannot get her computer to start up.
The computer is approx 2 years old and gets v little use

The computer is running very slow. Right clicking creates
a long long pause. Icons on the desktop move after a
restart. CD rom will not open or eject. Virus scan says
system is clean.  Reinstalling Windows did not help.

I have downloaded and installed a program from the
internet.  Everything seems to have gone just fine ....no
error messages at this point...nothing
However when I try to open the program, I get the

My system resources are running at 48%, I am told that I
should be somewhere in the 70% area.  I have all sorts of
background programs running that I am unable to shut down
permanently.  HOw do I get my system resoureces up for
mouse not saving settings09 Jan 2004 20:00 GMT1
Through "control panel" I changed my mouse settings.
All fine until I reboot or power down. Then, all the mouse
default seetings return.
Bottom line, it's not saving my changes.
