I am continuing to experience more problems with my
system, am considering upgrading to XP Professional but
wondering if I should resolve these problems first. I have
kept a log of some of the things going on over the past

I have a laptop with Win98 on it.  When I power on it
goes through the POST, flashes the Win98 screen for about
a second and then changes to DOS mode showing only the C:

I have an IBM 300 MHz system that came with win 95. I
upgraded it to win98se some time ago and have not noticed
any real problems except.  I cannot run ScanDisk because
it keeps stopping and reporting that it has restarted 10

  My computer always shutdown after I log-in into

I am having a free cell problem with this error
message finally appearing.
FREECELL caused a general protection fault
in module FREECELL.EXE at 0001:0000107e.

a lot of my files have been accidently deleted. Everythime
I click on Microsoft word it wont open. I have Microsoft
Office 2000 Premium and nothing is working, excel, access,
word, power point, front page...

Hope you all can help.  Done all I can.  My system just
started not wanting to respond to various message boxes.  
It will just hang up.  It is not constant though except in
the shut down box.  It always tells me system is busy.

There is no taskbar or icons when i start-up my system.
The only thing that pops up is the password screen, I
guess cancel that and then I get my background screen
with no desktop or icons BLANK BACKROUND.... WHAT DO I DO

I have a computer with windoms 98 on it. And i want to
use a system restore to go back to an earlier date and
fix my computer problem. Does any one know how to do this?

error.
