My gateway 350 came with 64m, I got frequent out of memory so I added 128M, on boot up resourses say @55% still got out of memory with very few programs running, so added 256meg more. still get out of memory. and same

After running msconfig, and unchecking some startup applications, my computer seems to lockup(freeze) more frequently. Any suggestion on what might becausing the problem?

Lately, when i shut down the system, it goes thru its motions and then when the power usually goes off, it automatically reboots instead. How can I correct this?

I have dial up through aol. My windows 98 has a tendency to freeze up, and to have problems shutting down. I recently added an additional 128MB memory thinking that would help, but it did not.
