My gateway 350 came with 64m, I got frequent out of
memory so I added 128M, on boot up resourses say @55%
still got out of memory with very few programs running,
so added 256meg more.  still get out of memory. and same

After running msconfig, and unchecking some startup
applications, my computer seems to lockup(freeze) more
frequently.  Any suggestion on what might becausing the
problem?

Lately, when i shut down the system, it goes thru its motions and then when the
power usually goes off, it automatically reboots instead. How  can I correct

I have dial up through aol.  My windows 98 has a tendency
to freeze up, and to have problems shutting down.  I
recently added an additional 128MB memory thinking that
would help, but it did not.

I have a Sony laptop that came with 128MB of RAM.  Every
so often I would get an "out of memory" message.  I
finally got another 128MB chip and installed it.  Now I
have 256MB of RAM and am running WIN98SE.  With all this

I am helping a friend speed up his PC.
When he boots he begins with 80% resources.
When he adds AOL,McAfee, and AIM it jumps down to 48%.
His parents like AOL.

I'm not sure if my problem is specifically Win98 or a more general pc
problem.
A few weeks ago, i started having problems which resulted in me having to
re-install Win98SE.  Since then, when I shutdown my pc it doesn't switch

Some of my help files are missing. When I go to
Troubleshooter\network\click here\select a radio
button\next the window is blank. This is happening in
several of the help windows not just the network one.  How
