i had a virus on my computer but in investagating the
damage, i noticed that Windows did not regonize my CD-
RW ,CD-r,or my Zip drives! i was told to look in System
information for the offending file. i also got a message

My computer has been running slow so I tried to do a disk
defrag and scandisk but as soon as I start it the computer
freezes. The mouse and keyboard both freeze. I can't even
hit ctr-alt-delete.  I have to shut it off illegally.

I have aol 7.0 and recently I had to go to system information to uninstall the
aol adapter. :As I recall from numerous times of doing this, when i try to sign
on, I would immediately get a message that its reinstalling the adapter and

When I try to run the defragment in Windows (98SE) it
keeps restarting and never completes.  I've tried closing
progams that run in the background, to no avail.  Scandisk
runs fine in DOS mode.  What am I overlooking?

My computer (mouse and programs) has started hesitating,
it's worse on the Internet, (which seems to be a little
slower than usual also), and the more programs I open.  
Graphic intensive web sites seem to make it worse.  I have

I had to reformat my HD and reload all my data. I have a
AMD 2400+ cpu, PC2700 256DDR Ram (333fsb)Win98 O/S. Now
when I try to run scan disk or defrag I get a message
saying I dont have enough memory.I went to msconfig and

I added memory to my computer, which seems to have sped up its
operation significantly.  But when I look at System Monitor, the
Ununsed Physical Memory never goes below 128MB.  Do I need to do
something to tell Win98 it is OK to use more more memory?  BTW, the

there is not enough memory available to run this program.
Quit one or more programs, and then try again.
I also get a WIN32 error at start up with the same
availabel memory message.

I encounter difficulty opening many files.  The following message
appears: "Windows cannot find account_features.fhtml.  This program is
needed for opening files of type 'Application Extension'." How can I

Please help. Whenever I type there is a lot of hesitation.
I think it started when I defraged but I'm not
sure.Anyway, I can usually start out typing O.k. and as
soon as I hit the enter key the hesitation starts. It is a
