Thanks for the help I have received here!
To date I have installed and run Hijackthis, XoftSpy,
adaware, spybot, spyware blaster, and cw shredder. Got rid
of a lot of nasty stuff.

When I try to run the disk defragmenter the application
starts but then 'gets stuck'. It displays 1% complete and
then goes back to 0% complete - I have had it running for
many hours and it never goes beyond this point.

When I start disk defragmenter it appears to be running

i recently installed the 6.2 Instant Messenger on my
computer, I cannot get the sound to notify me when
someone comesonline even after i have checked all 4
notification boxes, what is wrong?

I am using Windows 98 and IE 6.0. Very often I am unable to follow links on the internet. I have to resort to copying the shortcut ( desired web site address ) and pasting this into the webbrowser address window, then hitting GO
What is causing the problem that nessitates these ...

When I start up my Windows 98 computer, it goes thru the
whole process including connecting to network drives.
But then I quickly see the taskbar/start button flash on

When I tried to install Norton SystemWorks 2004, it would
not completely install and I cannot use Disk Doctor
because it is unable to operate on drive C because it is
in use by an unknown utility.
