My system hangs while idle for several minutes and also
while using my internet browser.  The drives are not
always recognized on start-up.  After I re-booted the
system, the disk configuration update only recognized the

I accidently deleted a file and restored the PC
to factory setting with a restore CD.
My problem is now the CD drawer opens everytime
I startup PC.Can anyone help me with this problem.

The Explore seems to be inside "Browse with Paint Shop Pro"
How do I get OPEN & EXPLORE back in the right click START button?

I am currently running an AMD K-6 500MH processor with my

the percent of processor usage...without shutting down all

I'm attempting to run defrag - but each time it hangs at

It ran last night for 12 hours without error or moving

About seventy percent of the time that I shut down
WINDOWS98 I get a message "Exception OD has occured at
22DF:000002DC" and the system hangs. The only was to shut
it down is thon/off button.

I'm about to blow a gasket!  Every time i try to defrag,
it continues to restart over and over again.  There are no
programs open, but one is running.  How can I tell which
one it is so I can stop it?

I have the following:
motherboard - ECS L7VMM3 3200+
hard drive - Maxtor DiamondMax 9 80G ATA133
cable - known good rated for 133

I have spent several hours finding things like "Bargain Buddy" and the rest
of the keys installed by the "bridge.dll"(an adware horror)  and fellow
travelers that show up as [now] disabled in MSCONFIG.  The files and folders
referred to were deleted many systarts ago.

i am having a real prob with windows explorer when i open
it, it freezes and i have to open task mgr and hit cancel
then it opens, also if i try to run certain apps it will
hangup and have to hit the cancel button.

I have not been able to find anything regarding this

I am having trouble taking things off my hard drive. When
I reboot the changes are right back on. My one nemisis is
an old KAK.htm that is on the windows start up programs
and can not be taken off. I use wid 98 second edition,

My friend's computer, running Win98se, starts the " one or more of your
drives may have...........etc." and goes to ScanDisk every time it is
started. After that it works normally.
I've run ScanDisk manually, a thorough scan reports no problems.

My O/S is win98se, pentium 2 355mz,195memory,10gb
Hdrive....When I am using my pc for some reason it seems
to change desktop after a small window appears saying
