I believe I have a virus that cauused the problem. Any ideas ? My screen is
black . The hard discs are running, but never stops. Cant come up in bios
either.

My jpeg files no longer have jpeg icons.  They have a
window icon and I am no longer able to open them by
clicking on them.  No idea what happened. Anybody else
know?  Thanks!

Maybe some can help me!
I shut down my laptop (star, shut down)  and the system
gets "hang", and have to power it off manually.  Why is
this happening?.

My pc shows very high processor usage when no applications are open.
Stays between 70 and 90%.
Makes programmes run very slow, cursor freezes and jumps, almost unusable.
There is some norton anti virus software running in the background

i am having trouble opening a wps file from My Documents-
after copy/pasting a picture off internet to the wps file
(i have successfully used this method previously, as not
all pictures display the download function) -and after

When I am in normal mode and I run msconfig it's fine until I either go
cancel or ok.
I get the following terminal error that then goes to an unreturnable blue

Chose "Let Me Specify my own virtual memory settings.."  for the SWAP
File  on the My Computer Performance tab.   And  Wow!, my P.C. was
working smoother, better, much more quietly!! faster,  than it has in
a long time.  Next thing I know that option is no longer available to

what steps should i take to the problem of freezing
screens and a message not enough memory when i have a 256
ram with only 4 applications opened?

Can anybody clearly tell me the steps I need to do to to
free up system resources. It go between 30-55% and I have
screens freeze on me. I am using windows 98SE with 256MB
ram. Any help would be of value.

Can any one help? When I open the Explore window there is
no directory tree on the left side of the window. The
space normall reserved for this is there but not the tree.
This just happened without any interference on my part.

I purchased a new tower for my windows 98 because my
my programs were slow,my internet was even slower, but now
three weeks later my computer is stating to slow down on
the the internet.could this because i don`t have on

pc hast been  running slowly and unable to keep up with
typing etc... so that it seems to stall for a few seconds
before catching up. Thought it  was a ram (64Mb)or swap
file problem. Have upgraded ram with a 256Mb sdram
