Can anyone advise why when I shut down from the start menu windows will not shut down completley. It seems part of my CPU shuts down but I still have to press and hold the power button until it completley shuts down.

still having some trouble with low system resources and want to revamp my start up. I am unsure as to what programs are not necessary for start up and which items i can remove from the list...anyone help pls???

I have done as instructed in the knowledge base but at the point of this recomadadition: "Click Plug and Play BIOS, and then click to select the Disable NVRAM / ESCD updates check box on the Settings tab.

What's the story on the C:\temp folder? It has gotten quite large on my computer over the years. What is it good for? I used Find here, and retrieved the recent forum discussion about deleting the contents of the C:\Windows\TEMP folder, but nothing about C:\temp
