Shutdown problem on Windows 98 Second Edition15 Aug 2004 03:43 GMT2
    My computer fails to shutdown about 50% of the time.  
When it does, I get the message: " A fatal exception has
ocurred at 0028:BFF88112.  I have been unable to find an
answer in the Microsoft website files having to do with

I had a problem with my older sony computer that limited hd to 32gig. But for
some reason whenever I tried to boot up, I kept getting message that NO Fixed
Drive found. Brought to a repair shop and he fixed the problem by adding
another Bios via software. ..at least that is what he ...

Recently I reinstalled Win98 on my pc and now I am
getting invalid page faults on everything.  If I try to
start Windows normally I get "Explorer caused an invalid
page fault in Module Iernonce.dll @ 015f:7cc616c0....So,

Oc the C properties it says Local Disk, then underneath it
says File System Fat 32. In the dos it says like this:

My computer got put into safe mode during startup. When I
returned it to the normal mode the icons and any further
pages are an expanded size. Plus AOL now has fuzzy and
darkened areas, with messages about needing 265 colors.

The computer in question is at my workplace, on a network
and is left on overnight.  There is a message on the
desktop in the morning which reads "pswin 32-1 has
performed an illegal operation and will be shut down".

I have been trying to do a Norton Disk Doctor and defrag
but the process keeps restarting "due to disk write".  I

Everytime I try to copy from my C drive and paste into my
A drive, or drag & drop I get a message "cannot copy,
system can't read from the specified device"
