Would there be any benefit to upgrading my WIN98SE computer's bios? It is 6 years old and has never had one done but I am concerned about screwing up the computer.

I am currently having a probelm with my mouse lagging behind in movement. Also the same is true of keyboard entries, it seems to lag a few character behind, unless I type very slowly and methodically. Any suggestions?
