When I boot up my computer sometimes a movie screen pops up usually with an
advertisement for an upcoming movie. I have run Ad-Aware, Spybot, anti-virus
programs, but can't seem to get rid of this. Any suggestions?

I had heard that if you use too much memory that win98 will slow down and not
be as fast. I had heard  256 was all that you want to put in it and above
that  is not necessary. This seems strange, is this true?? Thanks for anyones

Looking for an indeo 5.2 video codec. If I get to find this codec, how does one
install it. I do have it on another computer and tried to find a way to copy

In Windows 98 the Windows Update originally allowed me to install the
critical updates, but now when I try to install non-critical updades when I
click on ADD the "total items selected" remains at Zero, so when I click
review and install nothing happens.

Running 98SE as I change directories while exploring the
deaper into sub directories I get the slower the system
gets.  When I double click on a folder it can take up to
30+ seconds to change to it even if it is empty.  However

I notice Device Manager (W98) shows under 'options' for both of my CD
drives (CDR & CDRW) a check box for 'disabled' and both are checked.
I unchecked both but see no change in anything.  So what is it?

I was told by my program manufacturer ( ATI ) that in order to get my program
to work I should upgrade my cpu, video card and usb. ..but to call my vendor
first. i did call my vendor and he says you cannot upgrade a cpu. The only way
is to replace it with another cpu. Is this true? ...

in task manager that there are two processes running that I haven't seen
before.  One is ngen.exe and the other is netfxupdate.exe.  I ran SpyBot and
