I have two desktops both running win2k connected to the same router. Why
does one computer display certain website's favicon and the other doesn't?

Using Win 98.  Process is AMD Athlon.  11 GIG HD.  256 Meg RAM.
I'll start up a program and set it a task -- say, downloading an
update.  Once that is underway, I try to do something else on the
computer.  Say -- change a display setting, or navigate to a folder.

I'm not sure if I should be posting this here or in the XP forum.
I've been having problems with Win98, particularly kernel32.dll, and I thought
now would be a good time to upgrade to XP. Install a new operating system and
get around the freeze-ups and abends I've been having.

Can someone help me find a Win 98 disk?  I'm trying to help a long distance
sister who's system is crashing and I think the only thing we can do is
reinstall Win98, but she says she doesn't have a disk.

I reformat my hard drive and when I re-installed windows
98 back in my computer.  my screen looks weard colors are
not clear.  i went to my system settings and under color
setings I only have 2 color and 16 color settings I'm

Running Windows 98SE and cannot hear any sounds pc is supposed to make. eg.
no annoying windows sounds,also no music or game sounds. However can listen
to music if i play direct from cd player through basic media player.

disk free size is reported as a negative number if the hard disk has more

Lately, I'm frequently getting a message that there is not enough free
memory to run my programs.  I've added no new programs lately.

I have win98se and I installed and configured K-Meleon as my default
browser.  It automatically opens .html files from my hd.  However, when
I click on a url in my newsreader or mail program, IE launches.  Typing
a url in the run box also produces an IE window.  I want to use K-

When I run Scandisk, it almost gets to the end, says its looking for "Lost
File Fragments" and then freezes.  At this point I have to re-boot.....Help
