When i am using IE for streaming audio and I wish to close it, I get a
message that if i "navigate away from this page" that such-and-such
streaming audio connection will stop.  Is there a way to bypass this extra

I am running Win98SE on a 233 MHz Dell notebook with 64 Mbytes of RAM. Some
program - I think it's Explorer.exe (not Internet Explorer) getting stuck in
some sort of loop. I use MemTurbo and it shows the CPU usage as 100%. Killing
Explorer and letting it automatically restart ...

Has anybody used the called "killer replacements" mentioned in www.mdgx.com
? Let me explain better: Its an EXE file that you download and it make lots
of changes in the operational system, using the good parts of win98se and

I installed a new hard drive last week. Made an exact duplicate of my
old one. Rebooted and everything worked fine for several days. Then one
day when I started it up, it froze just before the desktop loaded.
Keyboard locked up at that point. Restored the last registry. No luck.

I have a AMD K-6 II 450 Mhz  with two hard drives that will not boot up, as I said in the earlier post this came on after installing a new USB device, so I have isolated that it is stopping after trying to load the vmouse.vxd file.    how do I go about resolving this?

After updating some drivers my computer go through POST then shut-down, I
know that I have to find which file is causing the problem, but does anyone
have a good place to start?    It appears to shut-down at about the spot
whereit's loading virtual drivers, (Safe-Mode works fine).   ...

I am running Win98se and all of a sudden now I cannot preview/quickview
pictures where I have been able to in the past.Can anyone help me out?

I recently had to reinstall Windows 98!  The colors are distorted and my
settings are at 16 Colors!  My error msg says to set at 256 Colors (600x800
pixels)  The adjustment bar will NOT move at all!  How do I make the
adjustment?  Please advise......... Thanks

In my Control Panel, System Properties, Device Mgr., Computer Properties,
View Resources:  I/O .....
I see that all resources are filled up to FFF6,  (I think full)  with a lot
of "alias" hardware entries which I believe are useless and are slowing

when i right click on the desktop and select properties and then go to
settings tab. the screen area controller is not working at all and also the
options for colors are only 2 bits and 16 colors only. how am i going to fix
it up? kindly help me out urgently. thank you.

Using Win98SE.
I have one HDD and another CDrom drive.
I would like to keep my old 40x CD drive to possibly use if I want  to copy a CD
to the DVD burner.
