I am having  a problem of windows restarting itself instead of shuting down,
I tried to shutdown by pressing start and then selecting shutdwon but it
restarts. Is there any fix to this problem?

My microsoft word 2003 freezes up or hangs when I paste html data from
the internet into word. I have deleted the normal.dot, reinstalled
office, updated to service pack 3. i have rebuilt machine also.

I got an advisory that if I have problems with a certain program, I might
need to update, replace, or even add two files:  MDAC 2.8 and/or MS JET.  I
can't figure this out, so how do I find these files and their versions on my
computer?  Apparently they are very large files which ...

Whenever I start my computer it gets to a point and then something comes up
that says some type of file of some type has been deleted and this part is

This is happing more frequently now. If I'm working for a couple of hours or
so, it will surely freeze. The only solution then is to restart. Some times

Used to have a single CD ROM, set up as master at the end of the cable.
Added another CD ROM, for R/W, set up as slave.
Boot up everything lists ok.  Yet, can't access information on CD ROM
Went back to single CD ROM [original setup] and still disk won't read

Windows Explorer is locking up more and more.  Even to the point of
preventing a normal reboot to be able to get things up and running
again.
Is it possible some file has changed? and needs to be "refreshed"?

I'm running Win98SE and quite like some of the desktop themes colour schemes
but hate the sounds, could anyone tell me how to disable them I've tried
unticking the sounds box in themes that does not work, and I don't want to
disable all the sounds on my computer.
