MS Windows 98 Shutdown Problems27 Dec 2005 02:46 GMT1
I have a system that is having a problem with shutting down.  I get a fatal
error message stating: Fatal A fatal exception OE has occurred at
0028:BFF88112.  Can anyone tell me what the fix is for this error?  I really
would appreciate the help.

I get the DEFRAG00205 error when trying to defrag drive C
Scan disk reports no error, I have already deleted the contents of
\windows\applog and have attempted to do the defrag in safe mode with the
same error as a result. NDD also reports no errors as well as Partion Magic.

exceedingly slow--mouse usage is almost impossible --all programs are very
slow to open--problem can be eliminated by disabling McAfee. Have tried
changing settings on McAfee to program files and documents only ...

In running Norton, I saw that there were some undesirable items in my
system32/dllcache folder. However, I've looked and looked and can't
find the folder. I even changed my control panel settings so that I
could see all hidden files and folders. Any clue how I might find it?
