I have one desktop running Win98 and two laptops running XP. The
desktop has an ethernet card and is directly connected (wire) to a DSL
modem/rouer.  The laptops are wireless.  I cannot seem to find the
printer or the desktop on the netork when attempting to access the

I have my USB installed in the devices list.
I have a canon scanner connected to USB it works
I have a printer on LPT1 it works
I want to put another printer on USB I have install the driver although USB

I am getting this msg. all the time when trying to print. It will not let me
re-install the printer. I need help

I have been stumped by this problem.  We have a HP Deskjet 948C shared from
a Windows XP workstation.
There is one Windows 98 Workstation with the driver installed and set to
print to this printer.  The print driver is the latest from HP for both XP

I have installed a Canon Sx00SP USB printer on a Win98 machine, and the
proprietry companion software for it is seeing it fine. Windows itself
however is having problems, giving me a yellow exclamation mark in
Device Manager. I also can't get a USB printer port to show up.

I lost all the printer info in the computer probably due to a crash.  I tried
to re-install the printer driver but window gave me the following error
message "the add printer wizard was unable to find any installed ports for
your printer. Please restart Window and then try again" ...
