All of a sudden my applications "icons" aren't showing on
my taskbar.  They're showing on the desktop.  Is there a

I'm trying to set up a computer for a hispanic friend.  A
WIN98 HP was donatd to him with the initial software.  I
did a fresh install from the system restore cd's. now I'd
like to have it show the menus and etc in spanish.  is

I recently replaced an old CD-rom with a new CD-RW drive
in my PII-400 running WIN98SE (unit has 2 HD + 128mg RAM)
The PC did not "detect new hardware" after installing
however the RW drive functioned fine with sound and drive

I have been attempting a clean 98se install on a Mag
tinynote/ NEC 120lt. There is no current OS on the
computer. It would normally startup with a "invalid
system disk" error message. I have tried multiple

i attemped to install w98se on my giga-byte nforce2 mobo
(GA-7n 400pro)and it refuses to install.no matter what i do
(in bios,such as slowing things down)it won't even get to

I have inherited a pc. The setting for explorer seem to be
customized (messed up!). I can only see the Attributes
column in the details view. I have tried restore defaults
within Tools/Folder Option/View but does not reset it. Is

If I enter a url in Internet Explorer which is incorrect or cannot be
completed, I'm redirected to search.msn.com which offers to "help".
I hate this .... I'd rather get the standard error message with the

How do you load cdrom driver from a win 98 bootdisk on a
laptop with inter-changable cdrom & floppy drives that
use the same bay? New install on a newly partition &
formatted fat32 disk. I can't get a win dir either?

I recently had a problem with my m/c wicj is now largely
fixed, but two problems still persist.
1) when I start up my system cannot find a device refered
to in the registary or ini files calledc;\win\sys\VMM32,

Had problem-probably a memory problem and system will now
only boot into SAFE MODE. In safe mode the CD drive now is
not accesible . It is physically OK (floppy DOS boot disk
accesses it OK).
