I tried to run a software that has msvcp60.dll in its own directory, and it complains about msvcp60.dll linked to missing export msvcrt.dll:__lc_collate_cp. I checked that msvcrt.dll has version 5.00.

1) scanreg /fix hangs 5% out in checkin system.dat 2) winxp refuses to upgrade win98se due to registry fault I have tried everything. Even exportet registry to a file, and then recreated it from that file. Still faulty :-(

I can burn bootable CD's using Nero and the Win98 startup floppy. Can you burn a bootable CD taking the contents of the Back Up files Win98 allows you to store? So in the event serious data loss you can boot up with that CD and restore the OS and files/settings/drivers

Running Win98/2000 on an older barely 486 puter. It had an internal Viking ISA 33.6 modem, replaced with a Best Data ISA 56K. The problem exists in Control Panel/Modems.

I had to struggle for hours for problems with 3 softwares installing some dll files. I eventually installed each software separately by clean installing win98 first each time, and finally figured out what the problem was.

I bought a new 80GB S-ATA disk to use with my P4PE onboard Promise Fastrack S-ATA controller, but I'm not gettings things to work :-( The Promise flashes a "no array defined" error messages at boot and the drive is not visible from Win 98se (drivers installed) or FDISK
