Had a program that was giving me an error regarding kernel32.dll. So I thought to delete the current kernel and replace it will one from the WEB. After the Downloading, I copied the new kernel32 to c:\ drive (via explorer). Then in the DOS prompt I used this instruction:

i installed win98 on a fresh system. Setup completes without any problems. Then when the first startup of win98 is pending,the pc shuts down, and reboots into a continous loop. Same thing happens when i try to start in safe mode. I already made a new install,but nothing works. ...

I have an Ibm clone that I recently purchased and somehow it has dropped the winit.exe in the startup, as a result it shuts down as soon as it starts opening windows. I do not have a win 98 disk but the disk has been copied to the hard drive

i turn on the computer wth the startup disk,and regaurdless of what i try the computer gos to the windows 98 and then to the compac presario then it hangs up at that point. ive tried going threw the safe mode and it does the same thing.
