Hi,
I'm trying to setup a Dell Optiplex GX520, to multi-boot Windows98, 2000, XP
pro. I found the knowledgebase entry on microsoft's website, for setting this
up. I made 3 partitions. First one is FAT32, and the other two are NTFS. When

by mistaken i change excel properties to notepad.
by right clicking on it i am able to open it with this option:open
using microsoft excel for windows
but the icon displayed for excel sheet is same as that for notepad. so

PCI/AGP Blade vid card,  and this problem has been there since first
building this box.  It seems I did a registry hack to reverse the diplay
setting, but now can't remember exactly what I was told so many ...

My brother has a Gateway computer many years old which has win98 installed
and is not capable of USB 2.0 for an external backup disk.

In folder right-click mouse, will popup a menu.
I dont know why today lose(miss) two import item in popup menu.
a, "send to--> desktop shortcut" item is lose.
b. "new --> folder, text file, ......" item is lose.

I hope somebody can help, I have an old Compaq laptop that is ready to die,
but I need to grab a few files from it.  Everytime I try to boot, it drops
into Registry Checker, tells me a good registry has been restored, and asks
for restart, but on restart it keeps dropping back ...

I've got the same problem as Greg, exactly the same. And sorry, but I
was unable to find a suitable solution from the hints and links that
were suggested in the reply. Moreover, as that topic seems to be

Does anyone know why autoexec.bat does not execute when window 98 start up?
I have added a few to clean the temp internet folder, such as
DELTREE /y C:\CWIN98\tempor~1
but when window starts and I check this folder, and still find cookie there.
