Hello Windows 98 users, I just bought a wireless router
for my PC. It requires Windows98 SE. I've got Windows 98,
I guess basic. How can I get or download the SE version?
Do I have to buy it? Or can I get a free update?

My computer boots up to the login screen and then when I
hit OK, I hear some computer action and then nothing
happens and everything gets quiet.  My icons never come
up.  When I select CTRL+ALT+DEL, I have no programs

have Windows 98.  Will that be sufficient?  Anyone running

When I start my computer it brings up my desktop but no
icons start menu or status bar,  I have also tried it in
safe mode it brings up safe mode warning and in the top
corners says safe mode but no icon clock start menu status

I installed Kodak EasyShare software on my machine than
delited some pictures- I now cannot use the system. the
error says I am missing SPIFFYEXT.DLL also BWFiles.dll the
program files for my ADAPTEC cd burner are also gone.

There are too many programs running at start up and
sucking down the resources of the computer when trying to
do other things.... where do i turn these off?

i am also having this same problem, my defraf process
actually got to over 71% then when I came back to the
computer it only gets to 10% then restarts.  How can this
be fixed

I must amitt that sometimes I am the virus.  So I could of
Nortons Uninstall something I should not have.  I looked
all through these programs to find and restore or at least
find what the computer keeps saying I don't have.

I have used the Windows/Accessories/System/Backup for
years using either 3 1/4 or Zip disks.  When one disk was
full, the backup would prompt for the next disk.
I now have changed to CD-R/W (more space per disk) and

While running the disk defragmenter, the process gets
about 10% complete and then a message appears that
states "Drives Contents Changed - Restarting".  The
