I'm having a big problem with a Win98SE laptop.  When I boot it starts
normally, the wallpaper appears, the boot sound plays, but there are no
icons and no taskbar.  The mouse pointer is there and moves, so the
system is not frozen.  I tried booting into safe mode but the same

My OS is Windows 98 SE. There was a utility called tweak
ui that would allow one to do certain things with their
desktop and such. My thing was to remove the arrows from
the icons on the desktop. Does anyone know where this

According to Outlook's folder size calculator, my PST file
folder is only 137 megs, but on Explorer.exe, my PST file
shows as being 700 megs.  I do I get Explorer to recognize
that I have deleted millions of emails and reduced the

I recently started receiving a message when my computer
boots saying, "File fntldr.exe could not be found or
opened" and that I should change the reference to the file

when i like to open any file from control panel an error
box says :

When I use the Help system (Start > Help) and select
Troubleshooting and use the dialog, it returns a blank
page without continuing to troubleshoot my problem.  Any

I am unable to use Help to solve problems with my
computer.  When I click on a topic, for eample "sound
trouble shooting," the first menu pops up just fine.  If I
select something from this first menu and click "next,"

When starting up Windows, I receive the following error
message: "Batmeter.dll file is linked to missing export
setupapi.dll;SetupDiGetDeviceInterfaceDetailA."  I tried
the MSN database fix to change the .dll file extensions
