I am using Windows 98. The shutdown is absolutely fine but
it doesn't diplay the screen. Please help me display the
shutdown screen "It's now safe to turn off your computer".
When I upgraded it to Windows ME, it was displaying and

I had an image-editing software that automatically
associated .jpg image formats to its program. Now that
I've stopped using it, and uninstalled it, I can't get to
those images. How can I switch the association back to

Installed (and uninstalled to confirm that problem is
related) Norton Internet Security 2004.  Now there is an
error in Free Cell and cannot play.  When I close it (it's
a blank screen and when you click to open a game, it asks

Hi I was wondering if I could load an exe on startup
before windows? If not is there a way to lock the
computer from entry until correct password is used? Any
help would be appreciated.

Ok, so maybe I'm stupid but if someone can advise me here
I'd be grateful. I tried to download the Norton trial from
Symantec to check for viruses on a friends computer who
was having problems with what I suspected was an email

I installed a software update for Wireless Intellimouse
Explorer. I got an error message that the DLL file can not
be found. If I want to install the software update again,
can I install by overwriting the file or must I uninstall

driver?  I've looked on the microsoft.com website but I
can't find anything for windows 98.

I recently used my Norton anti virus 2003 to get rid of
two viruses on one of my computers.  Now I get a system
file error message that the commctrl.dll file in
windows\system file has been changed to an older version

I am running windows 98.  From what I can remember when I
purchased the machine in 1999 (ancient I know), the sound
recorder did not work.  What happens is the recording
program opens, I can hear the sound through the microphone

jbdgmgr.exe from my disk. I ran the Antivirus, and it did
not find anything, but since there are so many new virus, I
choose to do it...

Hi, I have been unable to save a created file in say Word,
Excel or Power Point into an existing folder under C:\My
Documents\.......  I have then had to run Windows Explorer
to find the file and load it into its respective office

I know  that I can use the task scheduler to make a process
run at a given time each day. But does anybody have any
ideas how to set a process to stop at a given time?
There is a show on interrnet radio, and I want to record it
