I'M TRYING TO RE-FORMAT, BUT AFTER INSERTING SUPPORT DISK,
I GET THIS MESSAGE RIGHT AFTER IT SAYS CHECKING CD: "NOT
ENOUGH MEMORY. NEED AT LEAST 16MB". TRIED EVERYTHING I
COULD THINK OF, TO NO AVAIL. ANY HELP OUT THERE WOULD BE

Recently on start up, my system has changed from opening
in desktop to IE with no input from me (as far as I know).
How do I change it back? (Win 98 IE6)

Trying to find the event viewer for a win98 system so that
I can find out what happened to my system.  Error messages
etc, crashes etc.  I have been using win2K for so long
that I have forgotten.

Folks,
I have w98se and use AdAware 6.0 and SpyBotS&D regularly.
For the last several weeks there have been no updates for
either program. They both show "No updates available".

Is there a program that will check a cdr after you burn it?
The alternative would be to run/open every file on the cd separately and that would be to
time-consuming.

I'm using Windows 98 SE and I have a problem with some
applications. Outlook 2000, Winamp, Quickbooks Pro.
    When I close Outlook 2000 it remains in the "close
program" (CTRL ALT DELETE) box. When I try to start it

I am trying to record a video with my webcam and when I
click on start recording it does not allow me to and I get
the following HVIDEOS caused an invalid page fault in
module KERNEL32.DLL at 0167:bffc05bc.

My programs and icons are very slow to open. I ran a full
virus scan and did not help. I do have a trojan in
MSDOS.EXE, but not sure if that has anything to do with it.
Any help appreciated.

After running a full virus scan, it shows a trojan in
MSDOS.EXE. Any ideas on how I can remove it?

You guys are great.  I wrote around the beginning of Jan.
that my windows 98 would not boot up.  I read all your
advice and followed some of it.  When I was done, I no
longer had a system.ini file to change the shell back to

When I double-click a jpeg in Explorer or as an e-mail
attachment it opens Photo Editor (or any other program I
associate with jpegs) but not the jpeg file itself. The
only way I can open jpegs is to open Photo Editor (or any
