hope someone has ideas on why my winodws system is unable

while trying to upgrade to windows xp from windows 98 se,
the installation is blocked. says must remove ms shared
fax client from add/remove programs. it is not in
add/remove programs...any suggestions??

I found these files on my PC: comsmd.exe and v66shell.exe
I search in reg. and found a key on those files:
Hkey_Local_Machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run-
Is't trojan horses or worm or virus?

When I go to open any files my system takes almost 3
minutes to open the application, and some will not work at
all. When I try to reboot the system it hangs up and I get
the pop up window that says NOTIFICATION WND for RNAdmin

I get am error which reads Cannot import c:\ie.reg: error
