when i log on to my pc, there are many programmes running
that i can't seem to close. also i cannot gain access to
my server unless i close some of these programmes. i have
to repeat this each time i log on.  HELP .

Trying to help a friend out who has Win98 SE. For some
reason yet unknown the start button is gone. The task bar
is still there. BUt programs that are reduced to the task
bar won't open again from that location.

Cannot hear audio - although A/V files play video. cannot
open certain jpeg files, get msg "Viewer caused a general

I wasn't sure where to post this.
All of a sudden I have a machine whose num lock key is acting strangly. We
haven't installed any software (that I am aware of) that would have cause
this. When the num lock key is pressed, instead of getting numbers when

I no enuf 2 b dangerous.  my computer was off, upon it
coming back on, all my icons (like msft word, aol icon, mu
computer icon, the trash bin, etc)came back up, but they

Ok, heres an odd one. both Internet Explorer and Netscape
will only let me surf for a few min, the stop letting me
surf and start saying that it cannot fin page or just does
not do anything.  Same goes for yahoo chat. But my

My wife has had Norton 2003 for about a year and it's fine.  Now I want
firewall and antivirus protection also, but from what I see here, Norton
2004 is rather risky.  I contacted Symantec about purchasing an
additional license for my wife's, but they have not responded (other

file, uninstallation will not continue. how do i remove
