(1) My computer will not allow me to uninstall a program. Reason given: "The file is corrupt. How do I uninstal this corrupted file. I used to be able to use this file, now I cannot even bring it up.

Even after following instructions from Microsoft "disk Deframenterr Hangs After Choosing Disk to Defragment", I still am hung up. Neigher Scan Disk or Defrag completes its task.
