Upgrade Win98 First Edition to Win98 SE20 Jul 2004 18:17 GMT1
I just bought a d-link wireless card for my laptop which
has Win98FE. I now find out that I need Win98SE.
Is an upgrade possible?? If so, where can I get this done?

Maybe you can help me...I just chose randomly
I had to have my pc completely wiped clean(my son
contracted several viruses from downloading music on
kazza..anyway, I re-installed win 98...now I only have 16

I have sixteen self-loading programs running in my back
ground. Each time I restart my computer,or search the web,
they reload. How do I get rid of, or stop them from
reloading and slowing down the works? I've already cleared

Hi, i want to find which sound card i am using. In device
Manager, under 'Sound, video and game controllers', i have
the following devices:
Creative Sound Blaster AudioPCI 64V

Hi, why is it that, i fail to copy cd's. I am using
Aedaptec, and i have used it before successfully.
Now, i am having problems, where the CD ejects
automatically just before it is created (usually 99%).

Has anyone seen this error when starting comuper ? When I
press Ctrl,Alt delete and end task, it shows wupdater
error. I can't find a fix on support site from Microdoft.

When I start up my win 98, it gets to the point where you
see the microsoft logo, then the computer powers off, it
does the same thing when you try to bring it up in safe
mode

Hi, i have a pc with 128mb RAM. I have been montitoring
the RAM performance on the 'System Monitor'. I have
noticed that about 8.5MB is in swapfile use. What does the
Swap file figure indicate? what is the swapfile? Do i need

CD drives have disappeared from the system. I've tried
reinstalling the hardware but no hardware is recognized.

Since installing dsl, I'm getting this annoying window for a MS
Network sign on. I cancel it out,  but would like it gone. One of the

Whenever I start my computer up I recieve a message that
states. Explorer.exe has performed an illigal action and
needs to close. When I click details it says explorer.exe
caused somesort of page fault error. So I click close and

Problem: When installing MS Office XP in win98 (Not second
edition), the computer prompt me "Require update system
file not detected on yoru PC.  You must install the system
files update prior to installing office. c:\windows\hh.exe

This started simply enough - the computer had a hard drive
failure.  No big deal, I purchased a new 40 gb WD hard
drive, formated it, and reloaded everything from the
