Are there any reasons for checking bios updates?

I tried to make a new folder the other night on my computer

Upon start up of my windows second edition OS the
background loads and everything appears normal untill
explorer.exe loads which then brings up:

Somehow my all my files and apps have been given .Ink
extensions.
All the icons have become blank and none of the files or

When I turn on my computer I get a message that
