Explorer caused an invalid page fault in module MSVCRT.DLL

I have done all the things to fix it that i know,
reinstaled windows 89se, run repair thru the add remove in

Hello group,
Upon booting up my Compaq Presario with Win 98 2nd Edition,

I checked in device manager, and there is a generic usb,
plus others, but neither states 1.0 nor 2.0. I use usb

Windows 98se tells me that some of my files are needing
update and cannot load nero,which came with my Yamaha f1e,
cd burner.
This has worked, but not after i formated and reinstall

I have 60,000 data files in a folder.  I have a list of
these file names and thire contents in an Exel
spredsheet.  I can sort and select the file names I want
in execl.  What I do not know how to do is, how do I use

Scandisk "thorough" never ends, It says something else is
writing to windows but I closed everything else and it
still doe not finish.  When I tried running disk

When starting Solitare, an error message pops up saying "Illegal operation
has occured, contact the program vendor". What is causing this

My new HP laptop came with a small pocket USB drive, labeled "HP Digital
Drive".  I loaded in a 1GB SD chip and it works great...with my HP
laptop.
But when I connect it to my Win 98 workstation, Windows starts looking
