I have posted this to several Win98 newsgroups, because I am not sure which
one is the most appropriate.
I have an older computer on which Win98 is running.  This system basically
crashed after an attempt to re-install a printer that was giving me a

I have recently tried using an optical Dell USB mouse with my old Pac
Bell, which has Windows 98SE installed.  During bootup, a Windows
error box will display something to the effect of, "Windows does not
detect a mouse...".

I am running Win98SE. When I reboot I get two "MS Script Control - Unknown
error"  messages. They seem to be related occur when the apps MSISAM11.EXE
and RNAPH.EXE are called by the Start program. Any ideas as to cause? Are
these apps case sensitive when called by the start-up ...

Suddenly this week, the dates in my applications are not showing the month
but just showing an "m".  For example, in Outlook Express, an email dated
10/7/04 appears in the list as  m/7/04.  It does the same thing in other
applications.  Can anyone help me with this problem?

When I click on Windows "HELP", I get the Help message:  Cannot open the

When I load WordPerfect 10, I get the message:  "Unable to load

I recently began Internet service through our local Cable
provider. The technician installed their software on my
computer. It took him several tries before he had it done
so I am not 100% sure WHAT all he did on my computer.

I am trying to access a shared printer on an XP Pro machine from my 98 machine.
Sharing is enabled, but when I try and set the printer up, I get and error:"
\\NAME is not accessible.  The logon server cannot be found."

PaperPort 9 would not load. So I uninstalled Paperport 9 and reinstalled. It
had a PaperPort Service Pack 3 which I next installed. To do a clean install

I am unable to install a USB hard drive case driver on 98SE system.
The first unit I tried was returned to the store where they were
unable to find a driver that worked for a 98 system.  The opened
another make and were able to load that one.  On my system the

I am still using Norton Utilities (Disk Doctor and System doctor)
for performance reasons on two of my Win98 machines. Until
now I have had little or no problems running LiveUpdate regularly
but today LiveUpdate suddenly failed on both machines with error
