I turned on my pc the I found that no icon on my desktop and on the other hand when I try to right click on my mouse no action happen but when I go to safe mode I found everything on my desktop so please can you tell me what I have to do to back to normal.

I´m a newbie to servers so please have patience. Installed MS SBS standard on dedicated server and a DLink DFL 700 firewall. Outbound traffic is working like a clock, but I can´t access my workplace from outside via the Internet (haven´t dared experimenting with VPN yet!).

.....the gateway, that is the question. I set up my local software firewall and trust all the local dynamically applied IPs as standard however should you always trust the gateway IP or is that opening up all data from that IP through to the networked PCs?

Everysince installing SP2 I cannot access the files on the other 3 machines I have. It always ask for a password or dont have access. Machines share the printers just fine and have no problem with the internet. Any ideas...

Doing some work and testing XPsp2 in the lab. Can deploy silently to clients (via SUS) - great. And have new ADM GP templates in the lab working also. However, as you know, the Windows firewall is enabled by default.

I just installed SP2 and there seems like something is wrong, when I click on Security Center, it shows firewall is on, but when I click on Windows firewall it shows off. I don't have another firewall running either. Also I have no icon in the taskbar, but maybe there isn't ...

I'm trying to join a server to a domain from a NATd subnet in a DMZ. However because of the NAT the DNS lookup is resolving to the real IP address of the DC's when looking for SRV records. Has anyone got a work around for this that does not require RRAS or ISA Server?
