As a volunteer, I support an internet community of ordinary users,
all Windows, mostly XP.  The McAfee Firewall logging seems pretty
thorough but its INCREDIBLY frustrating to be emailed logfiles
that are in some weird format that I can't read as plain text.

The incoming echo request checkbox in the XP firewall is permanently set to
on and the gui does not allow me to reset the checkbox to off.  Other than
through the GUI for the firewall, is there another way to turn ping echo off?

computer sharing, just using for internet, win XP sp2 and zone alarm
firewall. I have sp2 firewall enabled. is nat router and xp firewall enough

We've got one Windows 2000 Server running ISA Server, which is our
firewall, of course.  Then we've got another Windows 2000 Server running
IIS, where I'm trying to host an ASP.NET application using secure socket
layers.  However, we've never set this up before.

D Link ROuter and PPTP VPN (Repost)11 Dec 2004 13:38 GMT1
I have a VPN connection (properties at end of message) set up for work using
the XP VPN client.  When I bypass my router (D Link 604) everything works
fine.  When I connect through the router, I drop the connection.
Establishing the connection isn't a problem, but within 10-15 ...
