I'm trying to help my sister with her office network.  She has 2 desktops
(Dells) and 1 laptop (Vaio) all running XP with sp2.   They are on a Linksys
wireless router.   The 2 desktops have shared printers and all 3 share

Ever since I installed Kerio Personal Firewall, XP/SP2's firewall
disables itself, no matter how often I turn it on mnually.
I know it is not necessary to run 2 firewalls, and not even recommended,

i recently moved from using Zone Alarm to using Sygate Personal Firewall
because ZA used up too many computer resources and
it took too long for Internet pages to show up
too long for Explorer to browse my computer

I'm looking for freeware or similar that will allow me to create a
secure connection to family friends pc's so that I can remotely
support them. They are currently mainly running XP home, so I don't
have the 'get help' function (forgot what is was called within XP Pro)

Can anyone point me in the right direction of some good technical sites
associated with Checkpoint?

A client's computer is having some weird issues, mainly that I cannot
start the security center (or any Administrative Tools.)  When I
attempt to open it, it will blink open briefly then shut down.  This
happens with the Management console as well.  He has Windows XP SP2,

I am looking into setting up AD.  We use a proxy server (MS proxy v2)
and all clients are configured to use it to browse the web.  The proxy
is setup to use our ISP's DNS servers to resolve external names.  The
clients receive only an IP address and WINS info via DHCP (no DNS

I unchecked the "file and printer sharing" exception in XP SP2's
firewall. (This exception is enabled by default)
Somehow it re-checks itself! I can't tell when it happens but
eventually (not necessarily just a reboot) it gets checked.
