First, I am not knowlegdable in this subject at all. All I know is there are
ports and that you need some of them open and want some of them closed.
I was wondering if you have allot of web based applications, are they all
running on the same port as your internet browser?

I have router to router VPNs (non Microsoft) and some remote users on
laptops.
In the office (ie Local LAN) with the XP SP2 firewall on, they can login and
all is OK.

We are just migrating to Win2003 and are now joining all these workgroup
workstations to the domain. We are running in to "problems" where domain
users are not able to use different applications because they are not local
admins and then not able to "unblock" the applications. ...

For some unknown reason, Windows Firewall is blocking access to the 4
other computers on my LAN. To solve the problem I installed Zone Alarm

I have two XP Pro computers networked  and I try to access shared folders on
each. If I set up the same username with a password on the computers, I am
able to view the content of the folders on both computers.
