how can I get a product ID for windows ME

i get a error message runing applications
error inpage *********** MSVCRT.DLL
and the system hangs,
i have tried replacing the dll file but still get the msg

My computer will not read the installation CD for my
printer that I am trying to install.  I keep getting a
message with some type of driver problems.  What can I do
to correct this and install my printer?

When my computer is booted up and the user name and
password box pops up my kids have the ability to cancel
through this and go straight to my e-mail and use the
computer as they please.

How do I repair this?

I would like to set up a password so that when the system
finishes booting up, a password would need to be entered
