share doesn't respond and after removing software and

I have Windows ME on my computer.  It is now stuck at a
C> prompt.  It says that the C:\window\system\vmm32.vxd
is corrupt.  How can I correct this problem?

How do I get rid of the password prompt box when my
computer boots up?  It says that if I don't enter a
password; the prompt will not appear again, but it does.

When I try to open it, or anything else that uses Notepad

I cannot install Office XP Pro on Windows ME.  The BSOD
comes up and it quits the install.  This is a fresh
install of the recovery disk on a HP computer.  Any help
would be appreciated.
