Is there any way of permanently shutting down (or
preventing the installation) of MSN Messeneger application
to prevent user from accessing the application

WHEN I CONNECT A UPnP DEVICE TO MY COMPUTER, I GET THE
MESSAGE "UPDATING HARDWARE INFORMATION DATABASE - PLEASE
WAIT. i WAIT BUT NOTHING HAPPENS, AND WHEN I CHECK BY
USING CTRL-ATL-DEL THE MESSAGE I GET IS "UPDATING HARDWARE

I am having difficulty, even after looking through all the
trouble shooting notes in getting my PC to install the
windows updates.  I am not a computer expert.
Can you help me ?

I had to reinstall ME, now I am having problems. It will
not let me do updates (tells me administrators only). I
tried the solution MS suggested but these are the only
files I could find in the registry: Default- value not set

I was prompted to overwrite some photos I was dl
from my camara.  Thinking they were identical, I agreed.
Does that mean they are gone gone, not even in the recycle
bin?

internet explorer  alerts that my computer has
Sasser_dWarm, but Microsoft site tells that Windows Me is
not affected OS....So, I have Windows ME....I do not know
what to do, because the tool against this virus, does not

my os is Windows ME. System got crushed, but I was able
restore it.
Now,my Internet Explorer version is 5.5 (it was updated to
6.0 before system restored).

I have a computer windows me with 5.5 explorer on it and
try to update with the 6.1 service patch which downloads
fine but stops when i try to install it at 66 percent of

During a systems crash I lost SSDPAPI.DLL which enables my

Windows ME disk, but cannot find this file on the disk.

i tried booting onto safe mode and i deleted the usb.when
i restarted and it went to reinstall i was missing a
file.what should i do?

I have loaded and reloaded Security Update for Microsoft
Windows (KB819696)about 3 times from the Update Page,
it says the update was successful each time.
However it does not ask for a reboot, and each day I
