I installed a new program and then restarted the computer
and got the following error:
Windows could not upgrade the file %1 from %2 %1: %2
I read Article 283069 which refers to this error and says

I was installing a wireless router and as soon as the
program sensed a cablemodem, i got switched to a web based
installation system.
since then everytime i try to install some hardware i get

does anybody know if windows ME requires a directory with
a name "_restore" to be present on the hard drive and if

Oh, for heaven sake! I am doing everything to try to get 5
new fonts to be listed as available to me, after having
downloaded them from online. The Microsoft page tells me

My computer does not run any good any more. I would like
to do a repair off the rescue cd rom, but my computer will
not do it thing. Which is, load the cd and shut down, then

My up-to-date version of Norton AV tells me I have the
Download.Trojan virus in two files in the C:\_Restore\Temp
directory.  Norton says it cannot delete, quarantine, or
fix the files (access denied). I have tried everything I

I'm trying to install an infrared adapter through the USB
port on a Dell Dimension 4100.
The system recognizes the unit, and asks to mount the ME CD
