My desktop and other applications have gotten "corrupt" with windows media
player icons, when I try to open a desktop application it automatically tries
to open windows media player, not all programs have gotten corrupt, just
about 90%.

i am looking to update my systemax computer to give to my sister for school.
the computer contains windows ME--P3 933 MHz--256 MB memory--40 gig hard
drive. i know i only need the upgrade version, but can i find this anywhere?
a classmate said i could purchase some "OEM" software ...

Is there a way I can get rid of this in WinMe if Im just using hotmail or
outlook?

Well, I've been banging at this for several hours now and am at my wits end!  
I have managed, by a fluke, to get only one recording from my DVcam that
includes both video and audio.  At first it would produce an error, then it

I am working on a gal's computer being as she can't get on the net and there
when you start the computer up was a message wanting her log on name and
password.  When I put in her name it would take it but she said she didn't
have a password for it and that she would just click out ...

This is odd. Just tried to open a word document and I get this message.
"this application must be installed to run. Please run setup from the
location where you originally installed the application"
then the microsoft word closes.

Have just noticed that a lot of my Files and Folders are Greyed out and am
begining to panic.I went into Windows/temp and deleted a lot of stuff which I
thought were safe to remove, but now I've just discoverd my CD-ROM is not
working. Went to Device Manager  and doesn't show ...
