I just installed Windows ME; when I open My Documents (or
anything else) I can see the folders and files in the
window on the right, but when I click on the folders
button in the taskbar, I get a grayed window on the left

fitted new modem sound has stopped working. have updated

I just want to know the difference between the read-only,

When checking the system summary in windows me, I noticed
that I have ~256 mb total physical memory, by only ~114 mb
available physical memory...  this is from a fresh boot
with no applications running, and seems extremely low.

A friend has a PC with ME as the operating system and it has many
problems and has become almost  unusable. He thinks it may be caused
by a virus and wants to format drive C and reinstall the ME operating
system from the restore disk or install WIn98se - he hasn't decided.
