I am unable to get the updates from the windows site.  
When I click on scan for updates it starts but nothing
happens.  It just stays on 0% for ever and ever.  Is there
some other way that I can download the updates?

I turn on our home computer and the start button does not
work. Very little will work at this point, most desktop
icons are missing. If I use "My Computer" and try to view

I recently downloaded Spybot and I received results
regarding a scan of my Windows ME registry indicating that
various files have "missing shared DLL," "missing
helpfiles," and "wrong app path."  Has anyone received

I have 20,000 files in the restore folder.  This is using
about over 1/2 my disk space.  I cannot delete them.  Most
have CAB file types.
Files date back to 2 years

Shutdown/restart freezes05 Aug 2003 04:40 GMT2
When I shutdown or restart the computer it starts to
shutdown then it goes to a black screen with a flashing
cursor at the top left of the screen.  I have formated
the hard drive and done a fresh install.  I started with

I right click over the START button and click on explore.
My drop down sub menu does not appear on the left side. I
tried different approaches and still no resolve.Can anyone

I was rebooting my dell computer as I always do when low

my computer wouldn't start at all - fitted new processor,
motherboards,ram, everythig. starts off ok then starts
crashing eventually leading to failure of whole pc ( when
I turn power on, even the bios fails to initiate ).

Each and every time I shut down my computer (Windows ME)
it freezes then I get the RNAdmin is busy or not
responding box.  Once I click end task it shuts down or
restarts whichever I'm trying to do.  Any thoughts?

Every time I run windows update I get the same files and while installing
(which never finishes) I get cntrl+atl+del info that File MSQSRV32 (not
responding). What does this file do?

While using Windows ME and Explorer my search service
keeps changing to "Smarter" (whom I'm not familiar with
nor do I like). I keep changing the defaul to MSN by
customizing but it automatically switches back
