the win me computer of somenone i know shows a picture at startup time. his son was on the internet and clicked somewhere... since this click the picture appears for a few seconds at startup. It is not in the autostart folder

When the computer starts up it will go to a list that has 1 thru 4. Will highlight safe mode and count down then go to safe mode if I do not slect and another number like one witch is normal mode.

All virus fixes tell you to disable "restore". Why what does it do? Does it restore the Registry??. If so what else if anything?

I notice on all the virus remove instructions it says to disable Restore. Why what does it do. Is it restoring the registry. What is different with this then the "scanreg /restore" command line in win98?

When I use system restore I get a message that says "cannot restore your computer to ----- pick a different date" isn't there a patch to fix this, or some kind of update? Jeff
