The icons on my desktop (excluding my doc., my comp., my network places, recycle bin, and internet explorer) all have the same picture overlapping the icon. I have no idea whats going on. someone please help.

I messed up and now when I try to boot I get hal.dll needs to be re-installed. How do I do this? Will an xp version do this, and if so do I put it in the system32 directory of windows ME?

my daughter's roommate is running winME on a laptop. She had removed Office (I don't know what flavor) not realizing that she would also lose Word. She left her disks at home. Can she reinstall Office from cab files? if so how?
