I want to have the password-login dialog box not appear
each time (or any time) I start my computer.  It used to
not appear.  Then, I recently downloaded some Windows ME
uddates from Microsoft.  Now, it appears.  How can I make

I have a problem of setting windows explorer. Right now I
am using window Me and when I open windows explorer, on
the folder detail side (left side) shows nothing. How
could I set up so I could transfer file side by side

The icons on my desktop (excluding my doc., my comp., my
network places, recycle bin, and internet explorer) all
have the same picture overlapping the icon.  I have no
idea whats going on. someone please help.

change the icon,I only have a choice of about 4/5.

I messed up and now when I try to boot I get hal.dll
needs to be re-installed. How do I do this? Will an xp
version do this, and if so do I put it in the system32

Was working in a Word document today (as I do daily) and
saved document and printed.  Double clicked on next
document and received error message that "The system is
dangerously low in resources".  I can access all of my

my daughter's roommate is running winME on a laptop. She had removed Office
(I don't know what flavor) not realizing that she would also lose Word. She
left her disks at home.
Can she reinstall Office from cab files? if so how?

I installed some new software, went ok, then asked to
install directX 8.1, and then a uninstall wizard for
software. Must reboot, I did, now PC starts, go to Windows
ME page, run and runs but never goes to desktop. if you

HI:  I have 41 non-critical downloads for my "ME" windows.
many of which I have no use for.  
HOW DO I DELETE THOSE THAT I DO NOT WANT TO DOWNLOAD???

At the end of a bootup sequence an error msg appears
saying that the loader cause an error on file IEDLL.EXE
and it suggests that if error persists to re boot.  error
accous every time at end of the boot.  Any ideas on how

I have some systems in my office still on the Me OS and currently having an
issue with some of the System Programs, most notably the defrag and disc
checker. When we run them, they get to @ 2% and then stop running, but if I
use Nortons defrag etc. they run fine. Is there areason ...

When I boot up my computer I often get a series of
messages usually starting with this one:
"Msgsrv32.exe has caused an error in KRNL386.EXE"
This message is then followed by several more messages
