I have an HP laptop running ME. At times when I shutdown
the screen goes blank but the computer is still running.  
I then have to manually turn off the computer.  When I
turn it back on it runs scandisc due to improper shut

When a document is written in Microsoft Works in ME, why
is it unable to be read by Office 2000 Word.  It becomes
gibberish when the document written in ME is attached to an
e-mail sent to someone who does not have ME or the e-mail

When I start up (from power off or from "restart"), the
internal tick clock is set to -3600000 (-1 hour precisely)
rather than set to zero.  Can someone tell me why and how

I have been trying to download a critical update to
Windows Millineum Edition from the Microsoft update site.
The information will download but the installation graph
will go all the way to the end but just stays there. It

I'm seeing about 20 different threads (earliest of 31 Dec) under the one
heading of 'error message' and am testing to see if this new posting
gets grouped into that thread (it shouldn't) by my (pre-release) newsreader.
Does it show up this way in yours ?

I have suddenly began getting the c:Windows folder
popping up on my screen at startup. I have looked
everywhere to find a place to tell the folder not to do
this because it is annoying. Anyone know how to fix this?

Have power lite on but cannot access drive c using Win me
start us disk.  I changed out the hard drive but neither
one will start.  I have tried to format it again  but it
tells me "unabel to access drive 1".  It was suggested I

Have ME 2000 but lost color and sound. The wallpaper is
looking like safety mode in 16 bit color. Tried to rest to

Is there any way to get System Restore to set a restore point automatically
the first time my pc comes up each day?  If left to its' own devices, System
Restore can go a week without setting a restore point and that can just set
things back too far.  Thanks in advance for any help.
