A couple of nights ago, my computer (HP invent, Windows ME, Celeron) crashed. I got a strange desktop, which looked like the memory was erased, but I wasn't able to do any of the things that Explorer.exe does (opening up directories, moving around the file structure, etc).

When I open a picture through Explorer, the picture opens in Photoshop Elements. Where can this default be changed so my pictures open in Image Viewer? Thank you, Karen

I am having some difficulty viewing some sites whose source is java based. (slow load times, sometimes having to refresh, etc.) If I dload Suns jre will it disable or uninstall MS java? Which runtime becomes default? Which java is preferred? Comments suggestions..all welcomed. ...

Zee, I have tried to do what you suggested but "Taskmon" is already disabled. I have found that the program that displays as Monitor when I press Ctrl>Alt>Del is to do with my Digital camera software.

I have Windows ME. Sometimes, when I connect to the internet, when or when I'm on the internet, I get this error in the "blue screen of death": An exception OE has occured at 0029:CC-120EA in VXD ---. This was called from 0028:CDBAEE50 in VXD ---. It may be possible to continue.

I went to check Hotmail while writing to say I thought I knew what the problem was and got a blue screen with an OE Exception....... 1. 0028:C011269F in VxD VDD (01) + 00000CDB I then hit Enter to go back to windows and got this one......
