There are a few items I would like to remove from here as well as in the programs list. Sometimes the shortcuts remove fine and am concerned about some of the items that I want to remove in the programs list warning indicates that removing

On checking the above, under System Devices, I have two entries for "Programmable Interrupt Controller".....the first one is working properly.....the second one has a yellow circle with an exclamation mark and it is not working properly.

Just had a look and would like to remove the above from my laptop. Really not interested in gaming on this nor have the capablilty of watching video either. Any way of removing the above item.

My friend is running Win ME and cannot get Windows Update to even get past checking for the latest software as it starts. A quick look at the troubleshooting ref given seems to have more to do with problems with installs actual updates.

I am creating a batch file that needs to determine the Computer Name before it runs. I have no problem with XP using "If %ComputerName% == xxxx. This statement does not work with ME. I have tried numerous strings. Is there a way to find the Computer Name? Thanks!

I have been trying to do a thorough scandisk for some time now and cannot get it to finish. I don't get the usual restarts, etc....it just gets to approximately the same point every time and locks up. Can't exit, cancel etc.

after my last defrag the computer would no start ! something to do with a missing vxd file or files! i was told to do a restore as my system is an OEM ! i had no restore points!
